Each malfunction (whose intensity and exact problem may be “random” generated itself) can cause another malfunction and so on due to other connected systems. When he was doing his flight test in the 747-400 simulator, the testing officer asked him 3 times if he had previously flown 747's! ...I have just recently sat the UK Airline transport licence examinations and I would just like mention how great PS1 has been in understanding EFIS. Part of the ATPL syllabus is EFIS and I was amazed during my studying how familiar everthing was due to my experince with PS1. ... After the exam ... people thought I'd flown the 747 before!!! ... The great thing about PS1 is that you can actually see many of the systems you learn about on paper actually working and functioning like the real thing... |

ABOVE: A bleed duct leak and a fuel leak occured (independent of each other). In the above company configuration, all four Hydraulic Demand Pumps are bleed air driven, i.e. both Hydraulic Demand Pumps 3 and 4 are out of service due to lack of bleed air in the right duct. |
